To enhance the infrastructure in the National Capital Region of the Philippines (NCR), Metro Manila, an additional elevated road section will be added to expand the Metro Manila Skyway. BAUER Foundations Philippines Inc. was commissioned to execute the foundation works for the Metro Manila Skyway Stage III Section II, which will partially run above a local river as the San Juan River Viaduct. For Bauer the project involved the installation of 65 bored piles on land and 74 bored piles offshore, both with diameters up to 3.4 m. The drilled shafts reached into depths of up to 44 m, while the deepest piles were in the offshore section.
